It’s the most wonderful time of the year – when shops and pubs dress their windows with Christmas trees, baubles and plenty of tinsel.

 

Rochford District Council is urging everyone to take photographs of these elaborate displays and share them on social media with the hashtag #FestiveRochfordDistrict, as part of a drive to support our local businesses.

The images will be shared on the Council’s Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts (@rochforddc) throughout December.

The Council is also supporting local businesses by providing free parking in Council-run car parks on Saturday’s in the lead up to Christmas Day.

Rochford District Council’s Portfolio for Enterprise, Cllr George Ioannou, said:

 

“I’ve noticed so many wonderful Christmas displays in our local shop windows, which really give you a sense of festive spirit and pride in our towns and villages."

“I’d urge everyone to support our local businesses by flooding social media with these images using the hashtag #FestiveRochfordDistrict. This is also an opportunity to think about doing your Christmas shopping locally, making the most of free Saturday parking in our Council-run car parks.”
